Wonderful route! Top asphalt and wonderful serpentines. An absolute must-ride in the Rur-Eifel! I think the Schmidt-Vossenack direction is ideal, down from Schmidt you can run well and the serpentines to Vossenack are great for climbing. Take a look at the "Dürener Tor Nideggen", it's the southern gateway to the old town with an eventful history, including being used as a prison. The Mariawald Abbey indicates that you have almost made it to the top. Or that you can still roll down a few more hairpin bends. No matter in which direction you pass by here, the attached café offers everything your heart desires. At weekends, and especially in the summer months, it can get a little busier here. If you want to be alone, it's best to come early. The view during the descent to Dedenborn/Seifenauel from the direction of Einruhr is sublime. At the Eupen dam, the large car parking, the beautiful lake and the restaurant make this ideal place to start/end routes.
